Following graduation, Ken & Andy began separate practices in Eastern Washington. In 2016, they decided to partner up and start a new firm. Andy began practicing law after spending 15 years working for the public and private sectors in digital forensics and information security. He provided his services to The Boeing Company, Cisco and the FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. He has a very strong technical background and has received the following degrees:
• Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law
• Masters of Science in Information Security from Boston University
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Park University
Ken grew up on a small farm in rural Indiana in a community very similar to the rural communities in Eastern Washington. As a teenager, Ken lived in Indianapolis, where he graduated High School. In 2006, Ken was accepted into the undergraduate program at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois as a Presidential Scholar and honors student. Initially studying music, Ken went on to complete his BA in Philosophy & Political Science, graduating summa cum laude in 2010.
As an undergrad student, Ken was heavily involved in Moot Court through the Model Illinois Government program. He went on to win the Moot Court competition in 2008, 2009, and 2010 alongside fellow Presidential Scholars and classmates.
Ken began law school at the University of Colorado at Boulder, but transferred to Seattle University School of Law after his first year. While at Seattle University, Ken focused his study on issues of Constitutional Law, Trial Advocacy, and Criminal/Civil Procedures. In the Fall semester of 2012, Ken participated in Moot Court again, advancing to the semifinal round of the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition in Sacramento, CA. During this same semester, Ken assisted lawyers from The Defender Association in the school's Youth Advocacy Clinic, providing representation to children charged in the juvenile court of King County, WA.
Between May, 2012 and July, 2013, Ken worked as a law clerk for Nelson Blair Langer Engle, one of the Northwest's preeminent personal injury and ERISA/SSD firms. During that time, Ken was involved in some of the firm's most high-value cases. Following the Washington Bar Exam at the end of July, Ken performed more work for the firm on a contract basis.
During 2014, Ken worked as a public defender in Okanogan County, WA. While there, he developed a robust motions practice and gained practical skill as a trial attorney. One of Ken's trials, State v. Camp, became local and national news.
Ken currently works as a public defender in Grant County, WA, handling a wide variety of misdemeanor offenses in District Court. He lives in Moses Lake with his dog, Maverick, and cat, Porthos.
